The family PC takes four minutes to boot and the browser crawls. Before buying a new one, there is a repair that changes everything.
Most laptops sold before 2019 have a mechanical hard drive: a spinning platter, a moving head. It is what slows everything down, far more than the processor or memory. Replacing it with an SSD divides the boot time by ten.

When it is worth it
Almost always, if the PC has a decent processor (Core i3 or better, Ryzen) and at least 8 GB of memory. We can add memory at the same time if the PC allows it. If the PC is really too old for Windows 11, we tell you first and offer options.
And the Windows licence?
It is tied to the PC and reactivates automatically after reinstallation. Nothing to buy.
Think also about cleaning and thermal paste: a PC that runs hot slows down to protect itself, and an SSD won't change that. We offer it at the same time if the PC is dusty.
