On a laptop the panel is a standardised part: a size (13.3", 14", 15.6", 17.3"), a resolution, a connector, a mounting. Once identified, it is ordered and replaced without dismantling the rest of the machine.

The PC's exact model (label under the chassis) is enough in most cases. We then check the fitted panel at the diagnosis, because the same PC model may have been sold with several panels (matte or glossy, 60 or 120 Hz, touch or not).
The special cases
- Touch screen: the panel and touch glass often form a bonded assembly, dearer; we tell you first.
- OLED or high-resolution screen: the part is dearer and slower to obtain.
- Broken hinges along with the screen: to be repaired together, otherwise the new panel will crack in turn.
- Screen that stays black without being cracked: it may not be the panel but the flex or the backlight; the diagnosis decides.
