Sending your console by post: how to pack it so it arrives in one piece
A console arrives intact when it can't move inside its box. The rest is detail. Here is the method we recommend for every shipment.
Most consoles we repair for customers far from the Gers arrive by Colissimo. Well packed, a console handles transport without trouble; badly padded, it arrives with an extra HDMI port to repair.
What to send
- The console, and its mains cable (the external brick for the Xbox One and the Switch).
- A controller: essential for testing the console in-game.
- For a Switch: the dock only if the fault concerns the TV output.
- A note with your name, phone number and a description of the fault, or the number of your request made through the form.
What to keep
Games, HDMI cable, headset, charging stations. Useless, and they get lost.
The packing
A double-wall box at least five centimetres larger than the console on every side. Wrap the console in bubble wrap, pad every side with crumpled paper or foam: it must not move if you shake the box. Controller and cables separate, in a bag, not against the console. Seal with wide tape, no string.
Afterwards
We confirm receipt the day it arrives, diagnose, send you the firm price, and the console goes back by tracked Colissimo, included in the price, once repaired and tested.
